Eleven MMCR cats found homes at the nation’s largest adoption event

Royal Oak, Mich. — Mid-Michigan Cat Rescue participated in the Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo, held on May 17-18. Eleven MMCR cats have found their families over the two-day event.

MMCR volunteers arrived early on Friday and Saturday to bring the adoptable cats and set up at the Detroit Zoo’s parking lot.  Hundreds of people attended the adoption event in Royal Oak from all around the state. MMCR received many inquiries, and more than ten cats found their new homes over the weekend.

Midori, Dusty, Notte, and Charalee were adopted on Friday by their new families. On Saturday, Ozara, Illaria, Numair, Nobi, Lucy, Paige, and Berry found their forever homes.

The Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo was hosted by the Michigan Humane Society and the Detroit Zoological Society from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 17, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak. Hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens were available for immediate adoption by more than 20 organizations at the largest off-site pet adoption event in the country.
